In protest of SOPA and PIPA, Tumblr is encouraging bloggers to black out their blogs for today. They’ll even call you to give you talking points and then connect you with your Senator. Wikipedia also is shut down for the day. They’re sharing information on PIPA and SOPA here and Conner encourages you to be informed! Google is also appropriately-themed for today. Instead of blacking out my blog - or continuing to never update it - I decided to get one of my friends who can Photoshop (and doesn’t take screenshots and paste them into Word and take more screenshots as her “photoshopping” technique) to make me an appropriate banner for the day. 

I like the Internet and I like it how it is. It’s open and it’s informative and full of info on the gumboot chiton. Do you love the Internet and free expression? Call your representatives! Wikipedia has a great page with info and a representative-lookup here!

The 4th annual Bring Your Own Bacon Party is coming up THIS SATURDAY!

For those of you who are new to the event, here’s how it works:

You are REQUIRED to bring a bacon dish to share. This is really any dish with bacon. For examples, see http://bacontits.com/post/ 550917018/bacondishes for most of last year’s dishes.

It is also B.Y.O.BOOZE so bring something. Beer. Vokda. Bacon vodka. Bacon infused bourbon. Mmm… I will of course have some whiskey on hand, among other things, but bring something and it’s more fun!

Omg, buy me this! I wonder if they are as gross as the bacon mints. And bacon toothpicks. Yuck. Also, gummy bacon!

In other news, I am going to see Lady Gaga tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. I’m considering making bacon sunglasses for it. I have no idea how I’ll find time but it seems like a good idea. If it happens, there will be pictures!

*Update* I’ve been told the bacon jelly beans are terrible, as suspected. So maybe don’t buy them for me. Buy me something with bacon and chocolate!

Alright Minneapolis, we are on the lookout for a miniature weiner dog named Killer. Start reblogging, or keep your eyes open if you are in the area around Liquor Lyle’s.

This has nothing to do with bacon but I love weiner dogs and it’s national dog day and and and FIND HIM.

This Sunday I’m competing in a bacon cook-off! It takes place 4p-6p(ish) at O’Garas in St. Paul. It’s $15 to taste all the bacon goodies and see who will win the competition! Conner is my teammate for the takedown. Come out and support us!!
